Review : Garnier Moisture Match Shine Be Gone Mattifying Fresh Cream

Hello Lovelies!
Having super oily skin can be a pain when it comes to moisturizing, and if I am being honest it turned into a stage I missed out of my routine. But here in England over the past few weeks we have had hot, sunny weather so I knew I needed to moisturise my face after it had been exposed to the sun all day. With that I went on the hunt for a moisturiser aimed at oily skin.

I bought Garnier Moisture Match Shine Be Gone Mattifying Fresh Cream (that's a long name) whilst it was on sale in Asda for £2 (it is now back to the full price of £5.99), and it's aimed at combination to oily skin. It definitely mattifies the skin, which I was really pleased about so my skin isn't shiny on those make up free days. Further to this Garnier claim "Shine be gone is enriched with Mannose, known for its hydrating properties, and reinforces the skin's barrier function, helping your skin to maintain its level of hydration for 24hrs". Being able to moisturise my oily skin without the grease and the shine is just fab! This product is something I would buy again, even at full price.

I also love the fact that Garnier have created a moisturiser for every skin type,  so you can find your perfect match.

  • Protect and Glow - normal skin
  • Start Afresh - normal/dry skin
  • Goodbye Dry - dry/very dry skin
  • Wake Me Up - dull skin
  • Shine Be Gone - combination/oily skin

I hope you guys enjoyed this review, and that I have helped if you have been looking for your perfect moisturiser.

Essence Haul

Hello Lovelies!
So today I went shopping in town and I popped into Wilkinson's. For those of you who don't know, Wilkinson's is one of those shops that sells a bit of everything really. In the past couple of days though they have opened a whole new beauty section and are now selling drugstore makeup. One of the brands they stock is Essence, which isn't available in UK drugstores, and by the looks of their website Wilko's is the only store stocking their products. So with such colourful products and fab prices it would've been a crime to leave empty handed!

All Eyes on Me Waterproof Mascara
As you guys know I'm always on the hunt for a mascara that's perfect for my short (barley there) lashes, so I had to try out an Essence mascara. I picked this one up for £2.00, as for me it always has to be waterproof. The description says this mascara gives extra volume, length, curl thickness and separation, so I can't wait to try it out.

Blush Up! Powder Blush - 10 Heatwave
I picked up this blush for £3.50. The bright gradient colours caught my eye as I was looking through the products and I just had to buy this blush. When I swatched it I was really impressed by the quality and how pigmented the powder was too! I like the simple packaging, it's quite a sturdy compact so you can throw it into your bag.

Essence Blush Brush
I feel you can never have too many brushes, so I picked up an Essence blush brush for £2.80. The bristles are lovely and soft and the angle of the brush will really sculpt your cheeks. The brush is a great size for putting in your bag for on the go touch ups, and again is such great quality for the price.

Colour & Go Nail Varnish - 128 Let's Get Lost
I got really excited over the nail varnish as they had so many pretty colours and styles. I picked up this lovely summery blue shade for just £1.60. I noticed they had some pretty professional stuff, and I would love to buy their gel nails at home kit.

Overall I am really impressed by what Essence has on offer and can't wait to try out what I have bought. What do you guys think about Essence? Let me know in the comments :)

Liebster Award #2

Liebster Blog Award

Hello Lovelies!
yayyy I have been nominated for another Liebster Award, so a big thanks to the fab Mary Lou over at Bean to Beauty. I love her blog, so it would be great if you guys go on over and check it out!

The rules are:
1. You have to link back to the person that nominated you.
2. You must answer all 11 questions given to you by the person who nominated you.
3. After completing these questions you must nominate 11 bloggers with under 200 followers and give them 11 questions of your choice.
4. You must not nominate the person who nominated you.
5. You must let your nominees know that they have been nominated and provide a link for them to your post so that they can learn about it.

My Answers:
1. When do you feel your best?
First thing in the morning after I have had a good nights sleep.

2.Have you ever experimented with colouring your own hair?
Well I have my hair highlighted by my hairdresser, but I have never drastically changed from my natural colour, or dyed my hair myself.

3. If you had to eat the same meal for seven days straight, what would it be?
That's a difficult question! Probably a roast dinner with all the trimmings. Roast beef, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, carrots .. mmmmm :P

4. Do you have a natural home remedy you swear by?
Not really :')

5. Is there a makeup artist you admire?
I love Tanya Burr. She makes awesome videos on You Tube that are easy to follow, and I have learnt a lot, in fact most of what I know about makeup, from her. I really enjoy reading her blog too!

6. What is your life saving beauty product in the summer months?
I'm not sure if you could class after sun as a beauty product, but it is a life saving product during the summer. It re-hydrates your skin when it's been exposed to the sun all day and is really cooling.

7. What is the best concert you have been to?
That is another hard question because I have been to so many! I have two overall favorites though. The first one is 5SOS, I went in February to the Manchester show, and after waiting for years I was so glad I got to see them. They are such a great band and interacted well with the audience, I just love them :') My other fave has to be seeing Justin Timberlake in April. He knows how to put on a show!

8. Tea or Coffee?
It has to be coffee, I drink way too much :D

9. If you had to impress somebody with dinner, what would you cook?
With having an Indian background I have grown up around my family cooking curries, so I would probably go with that. But I guess it would have to be quite a mild one, it would be a bit embarrassing if it set their mouth on fire :')

10. Do you prefer lipstick, tinted balms or lip gloss?
I love lipsticks. Now days most lipsticks are moisturising, therefore you get better colour then if you were to just use a tinted balm. I find as well lipstick just finishes a look and brings it together.

11. Sparkly eye shadow. Good or bad idea?
I would say it can look good for a going out look, and is really effective for stage makeup. I guess it depends on how much sparkle, a little shimmer is ok for daytime, but full on glitter is better saved for a different occasion.

I nominate :
1. Floor - Floors World
2. Georgina - Shine A Bright Light
3. Jenny - Dream In Pink
4. Claire - Sprinkle of Claire
5. Amanda - Big Primpin Beauty
6. Madison - Madi Makeup Junkie
7. Kierra - A Pretty Thought
8. Ella - Ella Was Here
9. Emily - The Dreaming Lily
10. Natasha - Natasha Paris Blog
11. Amanda - Amanda's Escape

My Questions:
1. Why did you start blogging?
2. Is there a story/meaning behind your blog name?
3. What would be your perfect holiday (vacation)?
4. Who is your favourite band/singer?
5. What would be your dream job?
6. What can you not leave the house without?
7. Do you have a fashion/style icon? if so who?
8. What is your all time favourite beauty product?
9. What is your favourite season?
10. How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
11. Who would be your dream dinner party guests?

I would like to thank Mary Lou again for nominating me, this is my second liebster award and it really means a lot that all you guys enjoy reading my blog!
